A Vampire Facial uses a combination of microneedling and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from the whole blood after it has been processed in a centrifuge to remove the red cells.
The PRP has a greater concentration of growth factors than whole blood, which accelerates tissues to heal and repair. This helps to stimulate collagen and, when combined with microneedling, can result in scar reduction, correction of sun damage, and the minimizing of fine lines and pores.
PRP is extracted from the client's own blood, eliminating any risk of side effects. However, patients who have blood disorders or take blood thinners should avoid this type of procedure.
